My Last Clinic Day!!!!

I cannot believe that today is my last and final clinic day! I treated my last pt and I'm having mixed emotions. One one hand I'm glad that I'm Graduating on the other hand I'm really going to miss some aspects of being a student. During that last 2 years I have really become comfortable with this clinic I was so nervous on owe first day but now I feel very much at home. I am excited for a new start but I will definitely miss my pod mates!!! What will I do when I can't have my weekly does of Marianne. How will I work with out hearing Sarah's OHI lol I mill greatly miss all the girls being here with me!! I am however so excited to be done and move on so I can get paid for the work I'm doing!!! I have had a great Last 2 years and I'm so excited to say I made it!!!!! Best Day Ever!

Laser

Today I got to be on the receiving end of the laser for once. I had a cold sore and of coarse it would show up right before Graduation!! I guess its a true sign of the stress!Although Joy was here today and lucky for me she went a head and lasered it!! I really hope that it will be gone before graduation!!!! I'm going to have to keep track and see what it does hopefully it will not appear in the same place again. The down side my lip is kinda yellow and gross looking at the moment! I do feel like its already starting to get better though!! So thanks again to joy!!

Last day at the Testing Center

I took my last and final exam at Weber States testing center!!! I'm so excited! walking out was the best feeling ever!!! I cant believe I'm done with all tests. I am slowly starting to feel all the pressure and weight lift off of me. I also I picked up my cap and gown today!!! SO EXCITED!! I cant believe we are Finlay done. I just have to bind my BS research paper and cant wait to graduate!!! We are going to have a pot luck lunch now so I have to go and eat some good food!!!

Passed my Board

Today I got my clinical board score and it was so nerve racking!!! thanks to the wonderful people at WREB I thought I had failed my board when I really actually got a 100%. I scrolled quickly through the email and at the bottom saw a huge EXAM FAIL I started to freak out!!! I then started to look and see where I messed up but realized that under the clinical score was 100%. Wow after a few minutes I jumped up a did a dance!! realizing a had truly passed!! So frustrating to think that I had failed. I went through about 20 different emotions that day. I'm so excited that I passed and cant wait to here my POC results :) so cole to being done.

Last VA Day

Today was full of farewells as well as excitement! It was our last day at the VA and I though I have hated the drive I have learned to like the VA. The pts are interesting and it has been a good learning experience. I love the kinds of pts you get to see and enjoyed hearing their good stories! I loved working with Connie and will really miss her she was so sweet to all of us!!! I am excited to be done and would like to move so I can get PAID!!! So farewell and good riddance VA I will not miss the 5:00 mornings!!!

50 min baby

Today I saw 3 pt at the va I was so happy I got to complete all of them in 50 min!!! I feel like I'm really getting fast enough to work in a private practice! It felt like I would never reach this point but I now feel I have gotten to an acceptable pace. I have met all my requirements and I'm very excited about now being able to see my recall cl V pts!!

Finaly a class III

I have been wishing and hoping for a class III for the past few weeks and this week I was able to clean 6 quads of a class III!! Woot Woot!! thanks to Connie at the VA for agreeing with my OD and a huge thanks to instructor Parry for gifting me 2 quads of a class II Today The pt was boarder line but he was willing to work with me!! I love instructors who are willing to give you chance!!
My afternoon pt consisted of me busting my butt to get her done by 1:45 (2 quads of a three and 4 PA's) then she didn't have the money to pay so I ended up forking out 24$!!! Yeah I'm kinda anoyed. I thought I told her the cost but she said I didn't. Who knows anymore my memory is starting to fail me so it is entirely possible that I didn't tell her the cost. Oh well just another cost I can add to my expensive education.
Morning pt a simple 1b but I was able to take a conventional pano!! so now all pano and PA requirements are fulfilled!!! So i was excited about the pano even though it took me 3 tries yep it was so embarrassing and really time consuming I spent 20 min scaling and 45 min in the x-ray room... Lame...
On a positive note the pano I took had some great pathology #32 and 31 were fused together and impacted (causing a lot of pain as it's trying to erupt)I also saw my first set of denticles 3 to be exact! it was very cool to see them!!
Overall It was a good day full of some excitement but I'm glad is over another day down!

100%

My last and final mockboard!!!

I'm happy to say I completed my last mockboard with a 100% I hope this score will continue into my real board score!! I am starting to feel more confident and I think I'm just about ready for the BOARD!!! though I'm still a little worried about the LA Board. I'm hoping to get some more practice before then even though its in 2 weeks EEKKK!!

Today I was able to clean the upper right quad which had a killer lingoverted 3rd molar yeah it was tough but apparently I managed! I still felt so nervous after turning in my pt and was surprised to see that I didn't miss anything! I wish I had a little more confidence but I'm hoping that will come in time!! For now it's practice as much as u can till boards. I'm so excited to have them over with!! woot woot

I found my Class VI pt!!!

I love how whenever I expect something it never works out but If I'm not planning on it just happens. Today I was all ready to clean a class 2 or maybe a 5 pt but was pleasantly surprised to find that she was my class 4 woot woot!! I'm so excited!!! She was a great pt and I was able to clean 3 quads today and will bring her back next week to finish that last quad. I'm a little nervous about getting all the info into Egalsoft but it will be a great experience. Anyway I'm so excited I found a class IV!!!! My pt this afternoon was a class II/III and I was able to get 12 injections done to day. It was a great day for LA!!! I also got 4 PA's and another set of BWX!! so averall a doog day.

Last Day With Dr. Hanson

I'm sad to say that I turned in my last chart to Dr. Hanson today! I'm having severe feelings of distress knowing she will not be with us next week!! I feel we are losing a wonderful instructor who I know has totally made a better Hygienist!! (thanks Dr. Hanson!!!!) One of my many goals at the start of this year was to at least at, one point, impress Dr. Hanson with some kind of talent. I soon found that she was very realistic yet very encouraging. After my last mockboad she helped me to feel like I could actually pass the real Board!! So here is to Professors who support and encourage us!!!! WE WILL TRULY MISS HER!!!!

LA written

Monday the 23rd was when I took my LA written. It is now the 26 yet the test feels like forever ago!! Seriously can please have my score??? I cant believe I have to wait 15-30 days!! I have mixed feeling regarding the Exam! I felt is was really weird and not at all what I expected. I'm hoping for the best and I'm going to move on to National Board!! I also owe a huge thanks to Marianne for keeping the calm before the test. I had an excellent Quizno's sandwich and a very useful ZEN moment with Marianne just before the exam as well as a what the heck conversation afterward!!! Needless to say I'm so glad she was there with me!!
So lets hope/assume I passed and bring on the next one!!

2nd mockboard!!!!

I am so glad that today is over with!! It was a long day but I'm really happy with the outcome! I got a 92% which is a huge improvement from my last board!! I was a little concerned that my pt might not qualify but that was an unnecessary worry as she had 23 clicks of calculus in her LR quad !! yep 23 people and I was so worried that they wouldn't find 12 hahahha! Either way I plan on using her left side as my BOARD pt!!! yep I'm feeling like she will definitely qualify and she is the sweetest lady who is willing to wait until march to get her treatment finished. I felt like she was a hard pt but I was able to do well and only had one missed area count against me!!! I feel like I really need to start focusing on identifying recession as I missed one area with that as well. However, if I get a 92 on the real board I will be so happy!!!

On another note I was so happy that for one day I got the pleasure of having Merianne back in my pod. I'm certain she is what brought me my good fortune today!! I think I may have to send a request for moving her over to my pod!!!
Well I guess my next step is to find a class 4 pt, another mockboard pt, and u know pass all 5 of my real bards so bring it on!

Bus Stop

Morning: great pt: showed up on time, easy to clean, no missed areas woot woot! sweet girl who is going into nursing!
Afternoon: pt was interesting. She missed the 1st bus and was running late then she wanted me to drive down to the bus station to pick her up. I wanting to finish my class III went to find her but some how missed her and she ended up walking anyway. When I set her in the chair her BP was through the roof but I was able to get her claimed down.Though we started late I was able to successfully do a left PSA MSA and ASA as well as a IA and LB The PSA was perfect though my pt still cried :( so sad!! she was a hard pt to manage and I gave a huge sigh of relief when she walked out the door :)
Overall to day was good and I'm so happy to be feeling better!!

Best day ever!!!

I'm so excited I woke up this morning feeling like today would be really hard. I was up all night with a sick baby and the morning didn't hold much prospect. However, my pt did show up and not only did she qualify for a mockboard pt for the 19th but her 2nd quad will be my really board pt. That's right I found my real board pt!!!!!! I counted 15 clicks of calc on each lower quad! She has no interproximal fillings and pocket depths were all 4-5mm!! My pt has also kindly agreed to be both my moackboard pt and my board pt!! She seemes really reliable!! I'm so excited!!! My afternoon was another story. My pt canceled last night at 8 and I called like 18 people and no one could come in. I was feeling quit depressed but looked up to see my husband who graciously cam in so I could clean his teeth. Yes its true I cleaned his teeth 4 months ago but He was willing and I still got 4 easy quads so, I guess I'll take it!! overall I I'm really excited about the board pt no I get to go home a take care of a sick little girl.
